The Operational Research Society is dedicated to advancing the understanding and application of OR and analytics across industries and academia. As we continue to grow our community, we are looking for passionate and engaged members to become Volunteer Ambassadors - key representatives who will help promote ORS, develop new connections, and support the society’s outreach initiatives.

What Does a Volunteer Ambassador Do?

As an ORS Volunteer Ambassador, you will play a crucial role in expanding the reach of ORS and strengthening its presence in the wider OR and analytics community. Ambassadors act as connectors, advocates, and thought leaders in their respective fields. Key responsibilities include:

Outreach and Promotion:

  • Represent ORS at events to promote the work of the OR Society and the community. Engage with potential members, organisations, and partners to encourage involvement with ORS.

Community Engagement:

  • Act as a liaison between ORS and local universities and within your field of expertise.

Content Contribution:

  • Contribute one article per year and comment on social media posts to raise awareness about ORS activities and resources.

Support Membership Growth:

  • Mentor new members by providing guidance on how to engage with ORS resources and events.

Feedback and Reporting:

  • Provide periodic updates on ambassador activities and progress.
