The Approach

1. Initial meeting with the Chief Executive and the Business Support Manager to decide:

a) the questions the management board wanted to answer and KPIs they need to monitor
b) appropriate data sources.

2. Development of an easy-to-use dashboard in Excel.

3. Data entry, review and revision of dashboard and process.

The Client

Care4All are an established charity who provide social care support and services to hundreds of vulnerable people in North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas.

The Client's Problem

Supporting the charity to present meaningful organisational performance management information.

The Solution

  • Quarterly-based performance management process (see figure) that will enable Care4All to better monitor performance and act promptly when performance is below target. 
  • Dashboard to monitor outcomes, financial and workforce key performance indicators (KPIs) grouped in broad themes (services, charitable objectives and strategic objectives).
  • Functionality to easily specify and change KPIs and targets, incorporate data, and show RAG-rated performance against targets, changes in performance since the previous reporting cycle and year-to-date performance.
  • Full documentation of KPI metadata, formulae and a ‘how to’ guide.
